Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
