I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
